NC All-State Honors Orchestra (NCHO) – won a seat in 2023, 2024, 2025 (Principal Second Violin in 2025)

All-County Orchestra (Wake County) – won a seat in 2026 (Concertmaster, Philharmonic Orchestra)

Summer Programs

Cannon Music Camp – won a seat in the summer program’s Symphony and String Orchestras, as well as the Honors String Quartet (2025). Received the Mariam Cannon Hayes Scholarship and the Director’s Award for Symphony Orchestra

North Carolina Governor’s School – won a seat in the summer program’s orchestra (2024)

Local Ensembles

Triangle Youth Philharmonic (TYP) – played both 1st and 2nd violin parts in this youth orchestra (2024-2026)

Raleigh Camerata High School Residency Competition – won one of four seats (two violins, viola, cello) in a baroque chamber orchestra in 2024, 2025

Leesville Road High School Orchestra – served as concertmaster, student conductor (2022-2026)

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Raleigh Music Collective Group Classes

Beal assisted Sara Maria Blanton, Executive Director of Raleigh Music Collective, in teaching her beginner strings group class in 2024-2025.

Private Student and Mentorships

Beal has given private violin lessons to a beginner violinist since 2024, after being certified by the Bornoff Foundation for the Advancement of String Education (FASE) to teach using the pedagogy of George Bornoff. He has also used these techniques and other experiences to mentor fellow Orchestra students as Leesville Road High School.

OTHER EXPERIENCE

Orchestral and Choral Conducting

Beal has conducted the Leesville Road High School Orchestra on numerous occasions throughout his time as concertmaster and student conductor. Beal has also occasionally led the Chancel Choir of First Presbyterian Church (FPC) of Raleigh during worship services, under the guidance of FPC’s Director of Music, Mark Woodcock.

Church Performances

Beal has had the opportunity to perform solo and chamber repertoire during worship services at FPC since 2018.
